Otra semana increíble aquí in Barcelona!!

SO many things happen every week that I never have no idea what to say. I seriously only tell you all about 1/10 of my week , which makes me feel really bad so today I will try and tell you more of week... well the greatest thing is that PEOPLE ARE COMING TO CHURCH!!! I have never seen such a constant and increasing number of investigators/less actives at church. This makes me so happy to see people make the effort to come and to feel the spirit! There is a family that is interested and has come the past TWO sundays but hasnt let us visit them yet because they are super busy, but this week we have a cita with them. we have only meet the mother, Elisabeth, who has 3 young daughters and her neice, Melissa. We contacted them two weeks ago, invited them to church and they came! and this sunday we called them to remind them and invite them again and they said that they were already planning on coming because the little 5 year old really wanted to come to church. One thing that is amazing that i have definetely seen here in barcelona is how the younger generation is really helping prepare their family. i know the little 5 year old wanting to come to church is small but we have another similiar case with a less active , Mayra , her 8 yr old daughter , dayanar, who isnt baptized because her father is not a member. Well they came to church this sunday too! and the 8 yr old is incredible in lessons, she really helps her parents get motivated. a couple visits ago we left them with the invitation to read and pray and ask if the b.o.m. is true and then the next lesson we had with them Dayanara brought us a picture of the chapel that she had drawn , at the top of the page she wrote "si confias y crees en dios ya tu sabrás" .("if you trust and believe in God, You will know") She said this was her answer. that she prayed and these words came to her head and that she knows the book of mormon is true. QUE INCREIBLE!! I know the lord has saved these young strong souls for these last days, to help the weak in spirit and to stand strong in this wavering world. to conquer the adversary and to be future missionaries! i know this with all my heart because we are seeing it here. The scripture asking us all to become as a little child , now, has so much more significance to me. I want to be like these little children, so pure that God can literally talk to them when they pray, that they feel the spirit whenever he is present and that they can recognize it and want more. I know the lord is preparing families because the children are preparing the parents.  I am so excited! everyday i wake up so excited to see the new miracles that God has for us. There is not a day that goes by where we dont see miracles, and i know that that is because we strive to be obedient and to let the lord guide our every move. This gospel blesses familys! y ya esta :)

Alright let me see if I can sum this week up.. okay I cant sum this week up. ha sorry but I will give you as much as I can. Okay I really just want to talk about this next miracle that happened . So sunday afternoon we had a fireside about family history work that my compañera and I planned, turned out pretty well! and then after that we took a member, Erik -he is 17, with us to contact a bit. We talked to only four people because we had only a half hour till we were supposed to be at a members home. and in half an hour the only four people we talked to ALL wanted to hear about our message, ALL gave us their information and we are visitng with ALL of them this week. miracle???? claro que si!! the best one, okay they are all great, but the biggest miracle one was our last contact, her name is yolanda and she was was walking with her headphones in and walked right past us, my companion and I looked at eachother and both felt we needed to talk to her. So I turned around, caught up to her and gave her our card, we started to talk, at first it seemed like she wasnt interested but we just testified of our message and about families. you could see how her attitude changed as she asked about what we do at church and what other activities we have, - the great thing is this ward here has TONS of activities, basically every afternoon there are youth and single adults, and families playing volleyball or basketball in the gym. Yolanda loved it all! she said that she couldnt believe that we chose her to talk to out of everyone outside because she was just barely thinking how her life is missing something, that she only works and that she walks outside to get fresh air but that she feels lonely . we were actually standing a block away from the church so we invited her to come take a quick look, she did and she had a permanent smile on her face as she met members and saw the rooms, (we only showed her the first floor, our church has three floors) She kept saying, "this is what i need" We have a visit with her this tuesday and then she is staying for english classes. She is wonderful!!! she is young too .. maybe in her mid twenties. But the best part is that we were with Erik, I love taking youth out with us to contact and teach because their testimonies grow incredibly, He just witnessed this miracle with us and I know he felt that joy that we felt when her face was illuminated with her smile as she thanked us and walked away with a grateful heart.

Okay so this is what i mean, i only told about two miralces and now my time is up. There is no way i can tell you about my whole week, I wish i could. maybe that is why a mission is incredible, so much happens that you cant explain it but you are so grateful that you are living every minute of it. Thats why this is the best decision I have ever made :) I love being a missionary of the Lord in Barcelona. I am so grateful for this opportunity. I love my heavenly father and my brother, jesus christ. I love you all and I know families can be forever. Please share that good news with everyone. families can be and will be forever through this true gospel of Jesus Christ.

Till next week!

Hola familia!!!

Wow, this week was crazy!! so you know how i told you all we were going to get 40 member present lessons, well we got 70! and we were exhausted not only because of that but because we were helping Genesis. Good news....
GENESIS WAS BAPTIZED!!! and better yet, her friend (Kevin), who introduced her to the church and to us , was the one who performed the baptism. the best part was that he himself is a recent convert! he was baptized just 1 and a half months ago! How incredible is that! She was a miracle and so prepared. We literally started teaching her on the 2nd of april and 17 days later she was baptized. I know that all i did was teach her because her heart was already prepared by the lord to receive and accept this message. She is a beautiful daughter of God and I am so happy that we were a part of this process where she found true hapiness and a family in the church that loves her. I want to send pictures so I think I will tell more by the pictures I send. Love you all!

Yitali :) (gee-ta-lee)‏

This is beautiful Yitali, She is the little five year old girl who stole all of our hearts, I dont have any updates about her because all we know is that they left last week back to their country, that the father has high hopes for her recovery but that the doctors really gave her hours, and days at the max to live.
The elder in the top right of the picture gave her a beautiful blessing that had us all in tears, including him. such a special moment in my mission. love her.

Querido Presidente Pace,

GENESIS IS GETTING BAPTIZED!  She is the 17 year old ecuadorian girl and she is amazing! we are meeting with her today and talking to her about the signature/permission she needs.- she has had a really hard past with her parents, they basically have never even been around and she just met her mother for the first time when she came to madrid a year a ago and well, now she is not living with her and hasnt had contact with her for the past 8 months.. so we need permission with the people she is staying with and we had to talk to our mission president and everything because this is a special case but oh my!! I am so happy for her. she is super prepared and i know this is what she needs in her life. I have only known her for this past week but wow, the change in her has been incredible. She is happy now. I love how this gospel just naturally does that to people, we are happy people because we know God loves us. People really dont know how big of a difference this gospel makes in their lives until they try it.

Working in barc is completely different than anywhere else ive been, (lleida and las arenas), its like a whole different world. i really feel sometimes like in a different mission. like as if each area was its own mission and now this is my third mission i´ve been on. ha. but its been great. I love that the church is in our area and we really take advantage of it. Hermana Nalbandyan , is different than the other comps i have had but she is still great! She is a hard working missionary and we are very much on the same page when teaching . I know we are both guided by the spirit and working together with the spirit like that really unifies a companionship.

I love that my comp and I both love aiming high. I feel like everything i have ever done in lleida and las arenas gets major results here. I wouldnt say im working any different than i have before , still the same always working, listening to the spirit and talking to people. . but here, oh boy, here it really sprouts huge results! so I told hermana Nalbandyan that the way things work here that I know we can get 40 member presents in one week... she agreed. and call us crazy but we are going to work for that 40 this week. maybe we are nuts but when we said that number we both felt it.. its completely possible and we are going to do it. ha we are already feeling the tiredness in our bodies by the end of next week but its a goal we have and we  have a great desire to reach it and i know the lord will help us.

Oh how i love the spirit! the spirit is everything! if i didnt have the spirit i would probably go home because there is no way you can do this work, love it, and desire to do it everyday for the rest of your life, if you did not have the spirit. the spirit edifies both the person recieving it and giving it and everyone in the room who fills it. How wonderful is that!?

well I am doing well here in Barc, its different but im ready for these new experiences.

This past week, the best part was spending time with Yitali,  a little 5 year old girl who has leukemia... (idk why im running into this on my mission) but her story is incredible. i will tell more next time... she deserves more than just 2 minutes in my email. so nexts week will be with more details and pictures.. or ask me about her when i get home :) I will always remember her.

love you all so much and so glad you are all well and happy! we are happy because of the gospel. so remember to smile to let everyone see how big of a blessing it is to have the gospel in our lives! love you all mucho mucho!

SURPRISE!‏

okay so tied up there with the number one best thing this week was going to the temple in MADRID!!

are you flipping out??? because i sure was!! I never ever ever thought that i would be able to go to the temple during my mission well,,, because its not even in my mission haha. but my compañera had to do some of her papers in madrid and so we had to go down there . she saw her family (weird) and then her and i went to the templ! I SAW THE NEW VIDEO! oh my goodness i am so beyond grateful for this wonderful opportunity to go to the temple, it was amazing and there are just no words to describe how happy and grateful I was and still am. well thats all! love you all!

April 7, 2014‏

Family and friends!!

no tengo mucho tiempo.. I dont have much time (whats new, right?) but IM IN BARCELONA! for those of you who like to look it up . I live on c/provenca 501, 1-1 barcelona, 08025 España and the church is located on c/cantabria 31 barcelona (not sure on the area code there but its metro stop Sant Marti) . talking about the church it is GORGOUS! its HUGE! it holds two different wards and oh boy is it beautiful., its like a real church, still in bewtween buildings but made especially to be a church. The church is in my area so its really nice because we just set up visits there in church and the people come to us! haha. so i havent really been around my area but i sure have spent a lot of time in teh church.

the work here is completely different than in las arenas or lleida. The hermanas have been here forever, the they have a good list of people that theyve contacted, and in other words, they have a good record of the history of the work here so its easy to just pick up where they left off instead of having to start from 0 which is what my mission has been so far. we have FOUR people that are getting ready for baptism. there are some complications but we are working with them to help them reach their goal of getting baptized hopefully this month. contacting in the streets is completely different. kind of weird but here the people actually listen to us!!! no wonder barc is where the mission home is, the people here are so prepared! I know that we are going to see many many miracles this transfere and in this area. Oh ! about my companion real quick. She is Hermana Nalbandyan . She is from Armenia (and yes i am learning armenian words ha) but she has been living in madrid with her family for 16 years. she 20 years old and very beautiful she is very happy all the time and a social butterfly. She is fluent in spanish (obviously), armenian and pretty much english! but we make a killer team in lessons. im excited for this transfer although my heart is still halfway in las arenas with h. gillette and the members there. I just more time to adjust to this big change. but i am loving it still.

well i hope everyone enjoyed conference! I absolutely loved it! we havent been able to watch the last session of sundays bc they pass it here at ten at night so i will have to watch it later or read it in the ensign  next month. but oh man, its just so wonderful to be full witht the words of our prophet and apostles!

love ,
Hermana Hair

oh forgot to tell you all that the piso i live in is huge! not as nice but huge, and i live with two ohter hermanas, hna swenson! my old comp and hna rackam , a friend from the mtc.

TRANSFERS!

I love you all sooo mucho!!! I just got on to tell you all that i am going to BARCELONA!!!! I am going from the smallest branch in the mission to the biggest Ward in the mission!! ah crazy! I leave today at 3 and will get there tonight at 10 by train :P I am excited but very very very sad. Hermana Gillette and I have grown so close together. more than any of my other companions, its been really hard saying goodbye.. which is weird for me because I havent had this problema with any of my other comps. She is great and i know she will do great here in las arenas. well i hope to write more tomorrow! if not, till next week :)

hugs and kisses,
Hermana Hair
